Consumers and businesses are not taking appropriate measures to protect their computer equipment from hackers or identity thieves. Those are the survey findings from the NationalCyber Security Alliance. Grocery manufacturers and retailers are building up their programs to reach shoppers as they stroll store aisles. Nearly 29% of manufacturers and 60% of retailers now have specific employees and programs dedicated to this purpose and marketers intend to increase their spending in this area.

Farmers Markets Receive Funds for Promotional Programs

The US Department of Agriculture recently demonstrated its commitment to the future of farmers markets with a $3.5 million grant. The grant was made to specific state and local agencies as well as to individual farmers markets. In all cases, the recipients are expected to use the funds to ‘establish, expand and promote farmers markets.’
